Tips and Tricks

1. How to stay connected to your Facebook and Twitter friends

If you have an existing Facebook or Twitter account, select “Customized” from Skyfire’s start page.  (Make sure you’re on the “Home” tab.)  Click the gray “Login” button to activate either feed.  Simply go through the steps to integrate your account.  Make sure to complete all authorization steps when first adding the Facebook application to ensure Skyfire keeps you logged in across sessions.

2. How to share the web with your friends on Facebook and Twitter

Once you’ve integrated your Facebook and Twitter accounts, you can publish any web page into your Facebook and Twitter networks.  Just go to “Menu” and select “Share.”  Choose “Page online” and a page will be displayed with the URL of the web page you want to share as well as a comment box for you to include a message.  Simply click “Post” and you’ve just shared that web page and your comment with your friends.

3. How to add your own feeds

Select “Customize” from the start page, and click on “My Feeds”. Then enter the URL under “Add New Feed.”  Skyfire will search that site for all available RSS feeds and present them to you in a check-box list. You may select as many of the feeds as you like, then select “OK” to add them to your MyFeeds list. They will then appear as active feeds on the start page.  There is a handy filter feature to view only the feeds from one source.  Click “Filter” and then the favicon of the feed you want to read.
